Three easy ways to own a StanCraft; find the perfect pre-owned from our inventory, pick from our new models, or let's start over and build a one-off-custom perfect for you and your family.
We have a great selection of Pre-Owned StanCrafts here at our facility in Idaho. Typically low hours and always in immaculate condition. These are a great way to get introduced into our family of boats, or add another StanCraft to your collection.
Choose from our Collection of Models, from 14' up to 36'. This is a collection of some of our favorites and most popular builds over the years. The Rivelle Series in particular sets itself apart in comfort and performance.
Not finding what you want in pre-owned or the collection, no problem, let's sit and come up with a whole new design. You may already have something in mind that we can incorporate into something wholly new. We build more custom one-of-a-kind boats than any other wooden boat builder in America, it is just what we do and do well.
Our boats are 100% hand-made our of African Mahogany. We build using the "plank on frame" method. Why fix what isn't broken. Plank on frame has been the method we have used for over 80 years. There are still many pre war StanCrafts floating and looking as beautiful as ever. We use Epifanes clear gloss varnish for our finish, with over 20 coats on the final product. Hand planes, and hand blocking is part of our daily vocabulary. Strong backs, and shoulders with a keen eye for detail are what build these works of art.
Once we have the design, power package and options figured out we will price the boat. To hold the next construction slot we require a 10% down payment on the boat. Once we start the build process another 10% is required. From that point the 80% remaining is divided by the months left to delivery for monthly installments. The final payment is due at sea trials and before delivery.
Our new build season is typically from August through May, June and July. A typical build takes approximately 9 months and as the majority of new StanCrafts end up in the northern US most deliveries are from spring to late summer. If you happen to live in the southern US or can take delivery in the winter months we are happy to accommodate. In general we operate on a first in, first out delivery schedule with some exceptions.
Maintenance is simple; keep them clean with the wet towel, dry towel method. Fresh water on a cotton towel, followed by a dry cotton towel to keep them clean. I recommend doing this before every use unless you are in saltwater and then I would recommend after each use. Other than keeping clean the other main item is the sun. When the boat is not in use it is ideal to have the boat under cover. Covered slips and boat houses are ideal and convenient. We do provide custom covers for every StanCraft and they can be designed for each specific situation and how the sun hits your particular dock. Other than those two main items and keeping up with normal scheduled engine maintenance use them as much as you can. StanCraft are meant to be driven, used, enjoyed, and to create as many special memories as you can!
Absolutely! We have many StanCraft throughout the world and many on yachts as tenders. In the states we have gone as far as North Caroline to bring a StanCraft back for refinish work, and we have shipped parts, paint, varnish all over the world. That said, there are many highly qualified boat shops throughout the states and world for that matter that we work with to make sure you and your StanCraft are taken care of with the highest degree of care.
